Feature and Follow Friday: Jumping Genres

The Feature & Follow is hosted by TWO hosts, Parajunkee of Parajunkee's View and Alison of Alison Can Read.

Today's question is:

Jumping Genres: Ever pick up a book from a genre you usually don’t like and LOVE it? Tell us about it and why you picked it up in the first place.

I guess the answer for this one is, not really and quite often! I don't generally dislike any genre, just certain books, and I will have a go at reading anything. So I often pick up genres I wouldn't normally read, thats how I find new books, genres and authors I like, but at the same time there isn't a genre I really dislike, so never pick up a genre I don't like. I hope I've made some sort of sense here!

  1. I wish I never picked up a book I didn't like! Luckily it happens very rarely.

  3. You made perfect sense, since starting my blog I have read so many different genres than what I normally would read and found I really liked them.

    Thanks for stopping by.

  4. Hi Amz :D
Gosh, I wish I could be like you! I rarely go out of my favourite genres and try new books. I don't think I've got the time (or I don't make myself time) to actually risk trying new books in fear that I'd hate it. Maybe I should though :D And by the way, you made sense to me :)

  6. I agree. I don't realy dislike a genre, it's just that sometimes I am more in my comfort zone and tend not to read that type of book.

  7. Lol you made sense no worries. I wish I was open to a lot more genres but I tend to stick to contemporary, paranormal, dystopian, fantasy, steampunk and scifi I believe. No horror, thrillers or mysteries and non-fictions for me thank-you :P

  10. Nice answer. I wish I could be as laid back in my book choices. I tend to be a very picky reader.

  13. Hopping through. I don't have any genres that I refuse to read, but I rarely read sci fi or mysteries. However, i finished a mystery today. Didn't like it much though.
